Meet Allanah

Speech Pathologist

Owner of Talk Joy Speech Therapy

Growing up Allanah always knew she wanted to work with people. “I was determined to either be a nurse or a teacher, so I could work with a range of people or help people for a living. When it came to choosing subjects at highschool I was not too sure what to aim for. I went to a careers open night and heard about Occupational Therapy. I looked into it a bit more and spoke to some teachers, one suggested that Speech Pathology was also an option. I attended an observational day at one of the local University. I got to shadow a range of speech pathology students in different classes and placements. I discovered that it was a perfect mix of health and teaching and I have never looked back.”

“My favourite thing about speech therapy is getting to know the children and families that I work with and being able to be part of their first few chapters in their lives. I love being able to make a difference.”

Allanah loves working with preschool and primary school-aged children. Her passions are within the space of articulation and literacy.

On weekends Allanah loves spending time with family or relaxing at home. She also enjoys being creative with crochet or doing other forms of art or craft!
